Instant Turf Installations

Lawn Squad – Instant Turf Installations - Terms and Conditions

Installing a new lawn is a combination of quality turf, proper site preparation and ongoing maintenance. Because turf is a living product, its long-term performance depends on many factors outside Lawn Squad’s control.

Our workmanship

Lawn Squad will:

  • Prepare the site in accordance with the agreed scope of works.
  • Install fresh turf supplied by reputable commercial growers.
  • Lay the turf using accepted industry practices.
  • Leave the site clean and tidy on completion.

Inspection period

Please inspect your new lawn as soon as possible after installation.

If you believe there is an issue with the quality of the installation or turf supplied, you must notify Lawn Squad within 14 days of installation so we can inspect the lawn during the establishment period.

Claims made after this period may be difficult to assess because the lawn has been exposed to weather, maintenance practices and other external influences.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Customer responsibilities

After installation, the customer is responsible for:

  • watering the lawn appropriately;
  • mowing at the correct height and frequency;
  • fertilising the lawn;
  • controlling weeds and pests;
  • avoiding excessive traffic while the lawn establishes; and
  • following any aftercare instructions provided by Lawn Squad.

Failure to properly maintain the lawn may affect its appearance, health and long-term performance.

Weeds

No newly installed lawn can be guaranteed to remain permanently weed-free.

Weed seeds and unwanted grasses may originate from a range of sources including:

  • existing soil;
  • imported loam or topsoil;
  • surrounding gardens or neighbouring properties;
  • wind, birds or animals;
  • lawn mowers or gardening equipment;
  • natural seed germination following soil disturbance.

The appearance of weeds after installation does not, by itself, indicate defective workmanship or defective turf.

Routine weed control forms part of normal lawn maintenance and remains the responsibility of the property owner.

Existing grasses

Although Lawn Squad takes reasonable care to remove existing lawn and vegetation as part of the agreed works, dormant grasses, underground runners, rhizomes or seed banks can survive beneath the soil and may emerge weeks or months later.

This is a natural biological process and is not considered an installation defect.

Living product

Natural turf is a living product.

Colour variation, seasonal growth rates, temporary transplant stress, minor shrinkage between rolls during establishment and changes caused by weather are all normal characteristics of a newly installed lawn.

Warranty

If Lawn Squad determines that an issue has resulted directly from our workmanship or installation process, we will work with the customer to provide an appropriate remedy.

Remedies may include inspection, advice, repair, partial replacement or other reasonable corrective action depending on the circumstances.

Lawn Squad does not warrant issues arising from:

  • insufficient watering;
  • incorrect mowing practices;
  • lack of fertiliser;
  • weeds appearing after establishment;
  • pests or disease;
  • drought, frost, flooding or extreme weather;
  • pet damage;
  • chemical damage;
  • heavy traffic or misuse;
  • failure to follow aftercare instructions; or
  • conditions beyond our reasonable control.

Turf supplier warranty

Where applicable, any manufacturer or grower warranty relating to the turf itself remains the responsibility of the turf supplier. Lawn Squad will assist customers in communicating with the supplier where appropriate but cannot provide warranties beyond those offered by the grower.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
